keithh Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 I was wondering if anyone has found any cities or priceline zones that pretty much always give you a beachfront room. My wife and I are looking to get away for a couple of nights in early Jan. and I thought that maybe if I started looking now I could find a good deal on a room. I am looking for 3* or higher and right on the beach I realize this may not always be possible with priceline but I figured I would give it a try. If anyone has any suggestions I will try them and post my results.Thanks, Keith

keithh Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 Thanks for the input. I found that in Folly Beach SC there is only one 3* and it has all beachfront rooms so I think I will try bidding on that.

keithh Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 How did you determine that this is the only hotel in this area?I looked at the city's website and searched for accommodation's the site only lists one hotel in the city, so I called the tourism commission and they said that there is only one hotel in the area.

Is there a possibility that since I am trying for a room in January that Priceline does not have a room yet?

What is the name of the hotel you're seeking and what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional methods? What are the date(s) you're bidding for? keithh Posted October 17, 2007 Author Report Posted October 17, 2007 Sorry for the misunderstanding but I ment there was only one 3 star, The hotel is Holiday Inn- Charleston on the Beach the best price I have seen is $152 a night so am I crazy to even try to bid $60-70? I am looking at Jan 5th-7th (2 nights) Thanks for the help

keithh Posted November 6, 2007 Author Report Posted November 6, 2007 I bid $59 for a resort in Hilton Head and was accepted on my first try. I am really pleased with what I got. Although when I get my price with my first bid it makes me feel like I should have started lower. :)
