Priceline Hotel: 3* San Diego (Downtown-Harbor Island) Hilton Airport Harbor Island

I need to stay in san diego for one night on Nov. 9th. I would like some advice on where to pick for my locations and what you think I'll get for my desired price. We really don't care too much about ammenities, ideally I'd love to be downtown or near it, cause we're going to a marine corps ball in downtown, but we can drive afterwords to where ever, anywhere between downtown and east county, and I really don't want to spend any more than $60.00 As long as its safe and clean we don't care if its 2* or higher i guess I have done lots of priceline bidding but I never can get an awesome deal in downtown which is really what I want, but it looks like I won't get anything under like 80-90 downtown huh?

I tried 50,55,60,65 I think and I included coronado, downtown, point loma and mission valley and I did 4* first then 3*...i was going to add in east county thats my last resort (thats where are kids will be w/ family) but i just don't really want to be in el cajon..i want san diego or mission valley... advice??

I'm not an advocate of the lower rated hotels, but if location is more important than star rating, why are you adding all the other zones at the 3* and 4* level before trying for a lower rated hotel in the Downtown area?

Just trying to make sure i understand your true desires/needs for this trip before advising.

I am not sure I'm really confused I guess... I would love to be downtown so we can walk to our hotel or hop on the trolley or whatever, not have to drive, but if it puts us in a dangerous area or a roach motel I don't want that either you know? I don't really want something thats less quality then a motel 6!! I called motel 6 and super 8 to get rates for military pricing nothing under 85.00... I can get a mil. voucher for 80$ at the comfort inn convention center, so i just dont think we want to pay that much. 50-60 I think is the highst we can go. Of course I'd be so excited to get a 30-50$ range even if it was mission valley if it was a 3+*. I am all over the place huh? What do u suggest?

well impatience got the best of me.. I upped my bid.. I went to 73$ for a 3*-4* and I had selected Mission Vally, Downtown, east county. And I got the

More then my husband is going to like, but thats the same price as the comfort inn and its much nicer i think.. So well see :) I love harbor island anyways so we'll seE :)
