nyc123 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 I'm a first time priceline user and looking for advice on bidding on a resort in Kaanapali for 12/1/07 - 12/5/07. In the calendar of wins, I see that the Westin Maui was obtained for $125/night for a similar timeframe and ideally I would like a similar deal. Haven't seen any other posted resort wins for Kaanapali so just wondering how likely it was that I could obtain the Westin at that price. My maximum resort bid would be $175.Thanks in advance.
thereuare Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! The Westin Maui is not available for your complete stay, so you may not be able to duplicate the previous win reported for your dates. We'll suggest a strategy to follow based upon your needs, but since one/two nite(s) may prevent your acceptance for this complete stay, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?Let us know and we'll take it from there. nyc123 Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 Hi. The Westin Maui showed availability on Expedia but not their website (assume that you have to go by the hotel's website, correct?). My dates are flexible and I found good airfare for 11/27 - 12/3. Any ideas which resorts in Kaanapali would be available for that time period for under $200/night on Priceline? I would like to avoid the Whaler since it looks a little rundown. Also, on the Westin website I saw that their Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas are available for that timeframe. Do those ever become available via Priceline or Hotwire? Thanks.
thereuare Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 With priceline there is no telling which hotel you will recieve, if you're trying to target, or avoid, a specific hotel then HOTWIRE is probably a better option. I would search HOTWIRE for your potential dates and see if there is anything within your price range.
