Tripadvisor's rating system is an average of the rating that customers who have provided reviews to tripadvisor have given - a completely different thing.

The first one would be a match on the Hotwire California list on this site for the Sheraton Grand (which does have a 3.5 TA rating)

Second would be a match for the Marriott (which also has a 3.5 on TA.)
