Priceline Hotel: Need help for bidding strategy

Hi...me again, enjoyed boston so much last time going again!...I am informed now and have much more time so would like some bidding strategy =)

Planning to go to boston on Dec 6/7 - 11

Willing to stay in Boston downtown and Copley...

I am willing to stay at 3* or 4* for downtown but 4* for Copley...want to avoid a certain hotel listed as 3* in copley

want to get BEST possible deal...i still have a month so want to try low number...willing to pay $50-$100 per night

Is either check-in date or is your arrival date not determined yet?

Did you first want to try for a 4* hotel up to your limit or is the least expensive 3* or better hotel what you're seeking? (ie- are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3*)

dates are flexbile in regard to check in date...wouldnt mind arriving either 12/6 or 12/7

check out date must be 12/11 tho....

no...i am not willing to pay more for 4* right now....its just i dont mind satyin in the 3* for downtown...but i dont want to stay in a hotel which is 3* in copley

To avoid confusion, please use the US-style date format.

At the 3* level you have three re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3* Downtown...

Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $55, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone3...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $75, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $85.

I don't think you have much of a chance for a 4* in Copley at the prices above, but you could repeat the strategy, substituting '4* Copley' for '3* Downtown'.

i am willing to pay more for 4* copley...and would prefer to stay at 4* copley than 4* downtown

shud i first use your initial bidding strategy...and then select 4* for copley...bid from 85 to 120

after that select 3* and 4* downtown and copley and bid upto 160?

Let's backtrack...

You previously mentioned a limit of $100, but in the last post above you mention bidding as high as $120 and/or $160 :)

What is your limit for a 4* in Copley?

Once you bid for Downtown, a 4* vs. a 3* is prefered and you're willing to pay more for that, or at that price are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better? (understanding that you don't want to include 3* Copley in your bidding)

read on some part of this forum that some people give a nice tip to the front desk when they check in and got upgraded to better rooms

has ne1 tried this in boston? do you tihnk it will work?
