gratianus Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I've checked rates at three hotels listed as 3* on South Beach (Miami) for 1/3 arrival and 1/6 departure, and gotten the following:Doubletree Surfcomber: $269Four Points By Sheraton: $295Miami Beach Marriot: $429I've placed bids as high as $110 with no luck so far. There is plenty of time before this becomes urgent, but I also don't want to waste time with a non-starter. Any suggestions as to where the sweet spot might be?Thanks
thereuare Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 What is your maximum bid for this stay? (i'm guessing you're not very close at the moment based upon current prices)As a back-up, would the South Beach Hotel for $161/nite meet your needs? I don't know much about it, but the reviews overall seem pretty good. There's no booking fee, so equivalent to about a $155/nite bid on priceline and it's cancellable up until the a couple of days before your stay. gratianus Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 I'll take a few more passes at rates closer to what the South Beach wants. It's too early not be try to play the game a bit longer. We already hold a $150 night rez at a Best Western at SB, but I suspect for that amount I can do better. We'll see. Thanks for the advice.
