thereuare Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Are you wiling to spend $350+ on a hotel room for this stay? I've easily found 3* and higher hotels starting at $300/nite. Is there soemthing in particular you're looking for? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Anna_Elizabeth Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 I am looking for a room bigger than a closet and in the Theatre/Times Square area as that is where I am spending most of time. Has to be at least a 3*, but I refuse to stay at the Best Western President again. That was a nightmare! My current back-up is the Hilton Garden Times Square where the rate quoted for each night is approx. $386, $408, & $386 respectively for my dates. It's the Saturday that is weird, which makes me wonder what is going on in the city that weekend. It also looks like more people are starting to book hotels as what was available yesterday isn't what was available today. Hence, why I'm curious about these 2 hotels. Or, I could always go onto Priceline and bid $350 to $380 for a 4* and see what happens. Anyone have any other ideas?
thereuare Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 I am looking for a room bigger than a closet and in the Theatre/Times Square area as that is where I am spending most of time.I know you've been to NYC before, but can i ask what you think you'll be doing that will cause you to spend so much time in Times Square. Although most visitors think this is where they'll be spending the majority of their time, it's almost always not the case, as per our comments in this Hotel Near Times Square thread. My current back-up is the Hilton Garden Times Square...We're an affiliate of the Hilton Hotels... please remmeber to check our support page before making hotel-direct reservations.Hence, why I'm curious about these 2 hotels. The amenities above are common for hotels in NYC, but the 4* is a match for the Millennium Broadway while the 3* is a match for the Hilton Garden Inn, so that woudl be our best guess for each.Anyone have any other ideas? As i commented above, i would definately be looking at other areas of the city for a better value, unless you can explain what will have you in Times Square for the majority of your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Anna_Elizabeth Posted October 21, 2007 Author Report Posted October 21, 2007 The only reason I go to New York are to see the Broadway and off-Broadway shows. This trip I'm anticipating seeing 6 shows in 3 days, and probably a few more if there are any late night cabarets, etc. So yes, I'll be spending my entire time in the Times Square/Broadway area. Thanks for the help.

Anna_Elizabeth Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Thank you for the information. I decided to use Priceline instead.
Anna_Elizabeth Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Details on my win below:Millennium Broadway Hotel (Times Square)Dates are 11/9 to 11/12/07I have been trying off and on since September, and decided to try one more time with the highest bid I was willing to go. My first try was at a 4* for $338 in MW only. When I tried to type in the first 3 I received a pop-up message saying that my bid might be rejected, but I stuck it in anyways. And viola, I got the Millennium.Price from their website shows a low of $459, so I am happy that I'm saving something.Hope this helps someone.
