Hotwire Hotel: 3* Hotel in Manhattan New York

I'm attempting to book a hotel for 3 people in Manhattan New York from Dec 6 to Dec 10. All I've seen in terms of hotel rooms have ranged over $400. We would like to get a hotel that is no less 2 stars for approximately $250 a night. Is that even possible?

ETA: I've tried Priceline, Hotwire, etc. Is there anywhere else I should look, possibly?

I have no problem finding rates under $250 outside the city at some decent hotels (you can get a Club Floor room w/2 beds at the Sheraton Meadowlands for $209 average per night), but these are extremely busy dates in Manhattan and I can't find anything for 3 people for $250.

How have you bid so far on Priceline?
