one more thing--why is the valencia listed in a redacted (line through it) form in the forum styled "hotwire hotel list texas'"? the way it is listed makes it to some degree appear that it has been striken from the list.

It is not struck from the first post of the hotwire hotel list... it is crossed out only in the second post, and it gets the strike-out once it has 'offically' been reported and moved to the first post (see the comments at the top of the second post)
