1234markc Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Hi,I'm a first timer so be gentle !I'm looking for a hotel for a 5 night stay for me and my girlfriend starting on November 29 wth a budget of circa $350-400 per night max.I looked a month or so ago and should have booked then as the prices have rocketed recently (was looking at Tribeca Grand, W Hotel, Westin and Empire as examples).Definitely after boutique type hotel, room doesn't have to be massive but must be along the boutique style and definitely not a huge faceless one if that makes sense. Ideally in mid Manhattan i.e similar locations to the ones mentioned above, I'd be open to other suggestions too though if the hotel was something special.I did find a website that gave 5 nights for the price of 4 but didn't add it to my favourites :)Never been to NYC before so any help would be gratefully recieved !! 6 Columbus was mentioned here somewhere but the prices don't seem to be as cheap as people say they are...Thanks !

1234markc Posted October 20, 2007 Author Report Posted October 20, 2007 They're on budget (there or there abouts) so thanks for finding them !I think we're going to go with the 6 Columbus as reading the reviews on the internet the recurring comment for the Empire is that the rooms are really small. I've also read that some of the rooms in the Columbus don't have great views but if we get a bad one then I'm sure it could be sorted out once we're there. The appeal of the roof top bar (if it's open yet?) and sushi restaurant swung it for my other half !So we're going to book 6 Columbus via Quickbook unless someone finds a last minute brilliant deal. Thanks again!
