Hotwire Hotel: 2* Evansville StudioPlus Evansville

I plan to send this weekend 10/19-10/21 in Evansville. Then I will return for the last three weekends in November.

What is the best approach for a room in the under $50 range and a 2* or 2-1/2* class?

Priceline or Hotwire?

Priceline is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but HOTWIRE enables you to know the amenities the hotel offers beforehand as well as take an educated guess as to the property you will receive (based upon the star rating and amenity combination)... so which service you use depends upon what is most important to you.

I'd start by first doing a HOTWIRE search and seeing if any hotels appear within your price range for the star quality desired. From there you can decide if you want to try to beat your best HOTWIRE deal by bidding on priceline or if there is a specific hotel, or a hotel with specific amenities, that you would like to try to target and try to determine the HOTWIRE hotel(s) offered.

Well Hotwire has a 2* for $36 that *may* be acceptable. I will try that for this first weekend. If it turns out as a disappointment, then I will try Priceline for the remaining weekends.

Well I was surprised at my results. This is MUCH better that I expected for $36 per nite. Internet is an extra $4.00.
