Just tried 4* Beach and 4*Downtown at $75/nite and was re-jected.

Too early to bid in earnest; will get more agressive and begin using Re-Bid strategy as we get c;oser to departure.

I realize that there is a good chance that I will have to go higher.

Just took a flyer tonight.

Tried again this evening, only tried 4*, $77, $85 and then $100.

I'm not too serious about it yet....long time to go

Tried $80/$86/$91/$96/$101/$106 and rejected.

Will try again, later in the week

Only tried Downtown this time...I really like the Renaissance.

Keep bidding up to $150 for 4* Beach or Downtown...no luck.

Beginning to question whether I need to be that close to FLL downtown/beach.

I'm talking 2 days pre-cruise could, almost stay anywhere in FLA

Just would like Resort like ambiance within 1.5 or 2 hours of Port Everglades.

Any suggestions on where to get resort or 4* at good price but avoid the extremely high prices that FLL seems to getting this year for mid-January?

Have you checked prices in Miami and/or Coral Gables? That would be the natural progression in regards to location, but not sure if you'll find better pricing there or not (it is the winter months, afterall)

Thanks, I think that I will continue bidding FLL but will start to investigate Miami locations. If I start bidding Miami I will start a new thread.

I just booked Holiday Inn Express Convention Center and Yankee Clipper as back up using points.

Will continue to watch in case 4*'s go on sale closer to my Emerald Princess departure.
