Sorry to copy Colfax, but he was spot on.

$40 for 2.5* brought a $12 counteroffer. I added Burnsville at $45 for the win. Probably could have bid $42. Holiday Inn's regular rate was $118 for these nights.

This is a tired and worn down hotel. The carpets in the hallways are dirty and threadbare. A lamp in my room didn't work (until strangely I bumped it, and then it was fine...). Walls were marked, hotel smelt old, carpet in room could use an update, pool area isn't the greatest, but hey, I was just here to sleep. Those things would disturb me at another hotel but for some reason I don't mind them at this Holiday Inn. It's what I've come to expect from the place. The staff is friendly and efficient, the beds are comfortable (my mattress appeared to be new), the free Internet works, and I enjoy that Green Mill restaurant/bar in the lobby.

Oh yeah, I was two doors from the elevator, and things were very quiet.
