Hello. I looked through the Chicago Hotel list, and didn't locate any matching these. My travel date is 10/22 (one-night stay). Here are the details:

2* Lake View - Lincoln Park - Wrigleyville $102

Breakfast, laundry, Internet

2* Magnificent Mile - Streeterville $119

Restaurant, High-Speed Internet

2* Museum Campus - McCormick Place - Soldier Field $116

Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet

Also, if you can identify these hotels, any input on the value of the listed price would be appreciated.

1. Not sure, but I'm guessing this is likely the Days Inn Lincoln Park.

2. Not sure, but the most likely guess is the Hojo (Howard Johnson) downtown.

3. Possibly the Essex inn or Best Western Grant Park.

Honestly, I never recommend staying in these sorts (Travelodge, Days Inn, etc) hotels in downtown Chicago, because you're paying $120-150+ for a hotel that you would get for $50-60 on the side of the highway somewhere else. They aren't a value - you're paying for location, and the second and third are not in the best parts of their zone/area. If the first is the Days Inn, that is in a nice area (Lincoln Park), but it is a trip North of downtown.

Personally, I'd MUCH (MUCH, MUCH) rather bid for a 4* in the River North/North Michigan Ave area or Millennium Park/Loop/Grant Park area of downtown on Priceline. I'd bid $90 for a 4* in either of the two areas (River North/NMA or MP/Loop/Grant park) on Priceline and if accepted, you would get a nicer hotel than any of the three hotwire listings you mention - and for less. I would not recommend bidding for less than 4*.

Please ask if you have any questions.

I've been trying Priceline for a few weeks, and have gone as high as $95 for 2.5 stars, and that hasn't even worked. I've tried both the River North/NMA and MP/Loop/Grant Park regions. I'm going to keep trying, but it looks like a $90 bid won't even get me a lower-ranked hotel on October 22nd. I will try again once it's been 24 hours, but thus far it seems like it will take a LOT more to get anything from them. I don't want to go much above $100 or so for a bid. Any suggestions?
