thereuare Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum bid for this stay?2 weeks+ at the same hotel thru the opaque suppliers by be through the opaque suppliers, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
ninim2200 Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 i have no problem in splitting the bid/Stay. From previous posts i saw bids for 3* between 70-82/Night ( 2 different posts) i guess my budget is the cheapest i can get...lol.
thereuare Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Which zones are you willing to stay in? HOTWIRE has some inexpensive properties in the Lihue area. You maximum bid should be based upon the best available rate you're able to find thru conventional methods (and then discounting from there given the 'unknown' and non-cancellable aspect of an opaque purchase). What is the best rate you're able to find else where for this stay?If you let us know the zones you're willing to accept and your maximum bid we'll be able to provide a strategy for you to follow. ninim2200 Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 i looked at priceline and they have one zone only but they have 3*,2*,1* and resort and i don't know if the resort is better than the 3* or worse.I want to stay in the Lihue-Kapaa Area.i am looking at a max bid of 85/night. i don't trust hotwire Star Ratting, for example( they have 3* Best Western Plantation Hale Suites and they are NOT more than 2*, I stayed there before), i had a good past experience with priceline before i knew about this website, and i am hoping to have the same result this time too.I found $79/night on hotwire for 3 Star. i heard that the hilton has an entertainment rate for 90/night for part of the stay 11/15 and up.ResortQuest Kauai Beach at Makaiwa has the room rate at 112/ night through Expedia.Aloha Beach Hotel Kauai ( this is a 2.5 star on Expedia)has the room rate at 99/ night through ExpediaThanks for all the help.
thereuare Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 With no re-bid zones avaialble i'd start at $70 and increase $5 every 24 hours until you hit your maximum bid of $85.If the above is rejecte and the Hilton does have the $90 entertainment rate available from 11/15-11/29 i would book that and then just try to bid for th e first two nites of your stay.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck keep us updated as to your progress and success.
