frnkrizzo Posted October 8, 2007 Author Report Posted October 8, 2007 Sorry, Thereuare, I forgot to reply to that one.Wont happen again...I greatly appreciate everything you do on this board !!!
thereuare Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 What is your maximum bid for this stay? (we'll then be able to suggest a strategy for you to follow... we wouldn't want to suggest a strategy that went higher than you wanted to bid)Also, please let us know your NYC THREAD if that was made thru Priceline or HOTWIRE.Thanks. frnkrizzo Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 I Would like to keep it under $100 if possible, but I suppose if pushed I could go to $125.We have plenty of time to bid.Stay is not until the end of January...
thereuare Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 With your 5 re-bid zones i'd begin as follows:Select 4* Downtown...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. frnkrizzo Posted October 10, 2007 Author Report Posted October 10, 2007 I tried and failed. Then I used your "BetterChecker" and saw that Hotwire was offering a 3.5 Star in DT LA for $86.So, instead of trying to keep bidding on Priceline, I reserved the hotel through Hotwire. Here is the info:Fitness, Restaurant, High Speed, Pool, Business CenterI figured I was getting the Westin or Wilshire, but got the Marriott...It's not too bad, only about 3/4 mile from the LA Convention Center...Reservation details: Hotel: Marriott Los Angeles Downtown2 room(s) @ $86.00 per night x 4 night(s)$688.00Taxes, recovery charges, and feesHotel subtotal $107.50$795.50 Will you move this into the HOTWIRE Forum ?Or do I need to do it ?
thereuare Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Congratulations on your success and for having this stay settled. Glad to hear the BetterChecker was useful in your research. No need to re-post, we've edited the topic title of this thread to reflect your results and have moved this thread to the hotwire section of the board.Glad to hear this will work well for your plans and you're happy with the results.Enjoy your stay.
