theplaceswego Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 I won this for a friend. This is a great hotel but I think they are now giving Special treatment for PL guests. The past 3 rooms for myself or friends have received 2Dbls with handicapped accessible rooms. You will not get the garden tub and separate shower. Rates were as low as $129 and they were told there were no King beds available. :)
thereuare Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 Thak you for sharing the win with the rest of the board.Have you/they received handicapped rooms on all three stays, or just the double bed issue? Did you check the website after check-in to see if King bedded rooms were available. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
theplaceswego Posted October 7, 2007 Author Report Posted October 7, 2007 This has happened on 2 stays(2 rooms on the 1st and 1 room on the 2nd) in the last month. 3 rooms were assigned doubles and told there were no Kings available. However, my friend was able to get a King after he showed his membership in their frequent stay program. Two stays in a row have been given the handicapped accessible rooms. Don't get me wrong, it is a great deal at a beautiful hotel. It is just disappointing because the regular rooms have gorgeous bathrooms with giant soaking tubs and separate marble shower. I wasn't able to check the website after check in. Just a few hours before check in on the 10/5 stay rates were at $129. That low rate for this hotel usually indicates fairly low occupancy though. I would be interested to see if other PL guests have received the handicapped accessible rooms as well.
bkhanley Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 I stayed here a year ago, 1st Saturday of December on weekend of SEC title football game and was given a normal room, King bed, bathroom with separate shower and bath that was one of the nicest I've seen. I'll be curious to hear if others report getting handicapped or double bed rooms as I am potentially going back for the SEC game again this December and want this hotel, if I have a reasonable chance at a king bed.
