jarmei Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Hi there, I am new to this site. Have read a few of the tips and posts but would be really grateful if someone could give me a hand!Needing accommodation for late October. Realise that we've left it quite late but our trip has only just been confirmed! After something decent, clean and in a safe area. Price we prefer to pay is up to around $300 including taxes. Not sure if a 3 star in MTE would do the trick and if the 5 nights is going to be a problem?Any advice and suggestions on how to bid would be very much appreciated!
thereuare Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! For starters, is there a reason you're only bidding the MTE zone? NYC is large, but also compact, and mass transit fairly inexpensive and readily available, that any of the midtown zones usually work well for the average visitor. Including more zones increases the number of hotels that could possibly accept your offer, as well as gives you more bidding opportunities.Let us know if you're willing to include other zones (MTW, UM/CPS, and/or MTS), as well as your maximum bid before taxes and fees), and we'll take it from there. jarmei Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Posted October 4, 2007 Hi thereuare, thanks for the response! No particular reason why, just sounds like a good area? Suppose if those other areas are just as good and it opens up our opportunities that we could expand to include them as well.We have made a cancelable booking which is about $1330 plus tax which is for a 2 star in MTE (La Quinta Manhattan) so hoping to do better than that.
thereuare Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Is MTE, MTW, UM/MTS and MTS all acceptable? What is your maximum bid per nite before taxes and fees? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jarmei Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Posted October 4, 2007 Sorry I'm not familiar with the areas, first time to the States! If they are all safe and acceptable by most peoples standards then ok by me!Based on matching the price of our backup hotel then our maximum bid per night would be $265 before taxes and fees. Thanks again!!
