Holiday Inn Select on Main Street in Stamford. Listed as 3* with the following amenities:

Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access

I was hoping that this was the Marriott, but I should have noticed that Marriott wins don't show high-speed internet access as one of the amenities. I took a look on www.tripadvisor.com to see what they say about the Holiday Inn Select and it appears that it's just one step above the Bates' Motel.

As you've discovered, many hotel descriptions look very close to others and the differences can be subtle... feel free to ask for help/confirmation before making your next opaque purchase... an extra set of eyes can always help.
