Priceline Hotel: 4* in NYC Oct 24-27

I'm new to Priceline and BetterBidding and after reviewing both sites for a couple weeks am looking for some help.

We are planning to go to NYC for the first time Oct 24-27 and want to find a 4* hotel in the ME, MW or UM/CPS. I'd like to keep my budget at a max of $250 / night if possible. If not likely, I'd consider a 3* hotel in the same areas at a max of $200 / night.

Any thoughts or insights into a strategy would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
