genechien Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Hi all, I've never bid for a hotel in Boston before so can you guys please suggest a strategy. I'm not quite sure what is reasonable so I'll say my max is $100 per night. I'm looking to stay in either Downtown, Cambridge, or Copley, in that order of preference. Thanks, Gene
thereuare Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Your maximum bid is not likely enough for a 4* hotel... what is the best deal you're able to find for a 4* hotel thru conventional methods? genechien Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 haha sorry i got impatient and started bidding. i'm starting a new thread.
genechien Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 I was kinda puzzled by how to bid for Boston since it's my first time. I was fine staying at any of the areas with *4 hotels.Started off with *4 in Cambridge at $100, rejected.Added Airport zone at $102, rejected.Added Downtown zone at $104, rejected.Added Copley zone at $106, rejected.Added Waterfront zone at $108, rejected.Added rebid zone at $110, accepted.I was surprised and kinda worried that a new *4 popped up in one of the rebid zones somehow. Thankfully I got the Hyatt Regency Downtown. I checked the website rates and their lowest priced rooms are $319 per night so I think I got a really good deal!
