singhania59 Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Hi - I am trying to bid for a 5* in Las Vegas (hoping to get the Venetian). Their rack rate is $210 per night. I am looking at arrival on 26th Dec an departure on 28th dec. What is a realistic bid on those dates - given the rack rates? I bid upto $120 per night, but was not successful....Thanks!

singhania59 Posted September 23, 2007 Author Report Posted September 23, 2007 I think my trade off is a 5* through priceline for sub $150 or then look at 4 which are currently lower than $100. since the rack rate is $210, i am tempted to wait for a while - since i have already bid till $120.Do you expect rates to go up as we get closer to the travel dates (12/26-12/28)? I am not really sure if this is a high period or not...Overall - the difference between 5* and 4* seems to be pretty considerable -- but do you think I'm getting too fixated on 5*? Last time I was in Vegas in 2001, and I stayes in Tropicana for $32 per night :) -- so things have changed a lot!!
