sabs Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 HI- am wondering about a hotwire BEST VALUE 3 1/2* property in WDW area at $48 -restaurant, fitness, business, laundry; any clue what hotel this is?ALSO- why is 3* with the same amenities $64?my dates are May 3-6 Thanks :)
thereuare Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding! Most likely the same as the hotel identified in this HOTWIRE POST.Hotwire is only passing along the rates loaded by each hotel (plus a little bit of a mark-up). Since rates are a function of supply vs. demand, if the 3* hotel has high occupancy for your date (for example, if there is a convention or banquet at the hotel that nite) while the 3.5* has low occupancy... then the 3.5* hotel could have a lower rate. There are other explanations, but this is the most logical one to follow without getting too complicated. If you decide to act on this selection please let us know how you make out. sabs Posted April 16, 2004 Author Report Posted April 16, 2004 I was hoping for Sheraton Safari rather than Doubletree...will keep looking.Think a better bet is to try priceline? Guess I'm a bit afraid since I never bid before...Could use all the help I can get. Thanks!
thereuare Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 The Safari does come up, but not as frequently as many of the other hotels in the area, so if you have your heart set on that property i think you're going to be disappointed. If you decide you want to try priceline list your maximum bid and we'll be happy to supply a recommended strategy to follow.
