swellmom07 Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 I will be bidding on 4* in San Diego Coastal, if I choose to raise my offer I understand I can add, for example Mission Valley which shows no 4* for a free re-bid. My concern is that if I my maximum bid is not accepted, it will be necessary for me to move down to 3*. In this case I DO NOT want Mission Valley to be included and I will want to lower my $ offer. Is it possible to remove area, add a star level and lower my $offer? Will I need to wait 24 hours?Thank you for your assistance.

swellmom07 Posted September 20, 2007 Author Report Posted September 20, 2007 My first bid success....The shared information here was a tremendous help to me. Thank you.I REALLY wanted to try for a 4* in SD coastal for the lovely setting. I tried a $70.00 bid yesterday and as expected was rejected (I simply had to try it!). Since it is likely I will spend little time at the hotel I couldn't justify raising my bid, slept on it, and decided a Mission Valley location (closer to my event) was more practical, in addition there was a chance I could get free parking and the lowest 3* Price.I saw another member had received this hotel at $45.00. I first tried $40.00 for 3* Mission Valley...rejected. For a free rebid of $45.00 I added SD coastal knowing it is more pricey and I would likely end up with this Holiday Inn. I did.I'm pleased with the location (in relation to my event), free parking and the low price. Thanks again.
swellmom07 Posted September 23, 2007 Author Report Posted September 23, 2007 I am happy to report all went well and my first bidding experience was an all around success. My only request to the hotel was No Smoking. I received a large comfortable room with king bed and sofa / sleeper.I found the hotel to be as represented with the exception of the coffee shop / grill. I looked at the breakfast buffet and went elsewhere. The hotel staff was professional.
