tjbrooks Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 I was reasonably sure of getting the Westin Market St. (previously the Argent). It was the first result when I searched Hotwire, and below the rate it said "You Save: $60.00". I fired up Expedia, and the first result was the Westin Market St. at $159.00. The TripAdvisor ratings did not match up, as it said 3.5/130+ reviews, but that is because it still uses the Argent ratings (3.5, 160+ reviews). Reviews since the change to Westin 4.0/36 reviews. At this rate, it's not worth using Priceline. Tax/fees were about $15/night.Description: 4 Star Union Square East *Best ValueAmenities:RestaurantFitness CenterBusiness CenterHigh Speed Internet Access
thereuare Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board.Do note that the "retial prices... you saved $xx" are often more 'erroneous' then the Tripadvisor ratings; they're not a reliable indication to be used to identify hotels. HOTWIRE's stance is that the price shown is for a hotel of that star class in that zone... not the actual hotel you will be receiving.Glad it went well for you.Hope you enjoyed your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
