g0james
hi all, hotwire is giving me $283 a night for a 2.5* hotel in the musuem campus-mccormik place soldier field area. I haven't seen any postings for a 2.5 star hotel in that area. Anyone have a guess as to which one it is and if it might be near the roosevelt train station at all?thanks! Link to comment
AaronJB
Yikes in terms of price. I'm guessing it could really be one of the three budget hotels right there - the Essex, the Best Western Grant Park or the Travelodge. However, there's no way I can recommend paying nearly $300 for any of them, as they're the bare basics. It would be like paying $300 for a roadside motel. Link to comment
AaronJB
Personally, I'd rather bid $250 on Priceline for a 4* in the Millennium Park/Loop/Grant park area and see if anything happens to come up. I could also find you a nice hotel in the burbs. I just hate seeing anyone spend that much for the Essex, Travelodge or BW GP. Link to comment
g0james
thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to pass on this hotel and just stay in the burbs Link to comment
AaronJB
If you need any help with suburban hotels, I'd be happy to offer some ideas. Let me know if you are driving, as that would have an effect on what I'd recommend. Link to comment
g0james
I ended up choosing the Sleep Inn (not-hotwire) for 183+fees per night. It has a 24 hour shuttle to and from midway. it's a nice clean hotel. not the best value out here, but it's a better deal than the $450/night hotels this week in downtown. Thanks for the reponses and help!
