sheelyc
9/7/2007Bid $60, $80, $90 for 4*Started with $80 for 3*Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $80.00Subtotal: $80.00Taxes & Service Fees: $19.84Total Charges*: $99.84We were actually rather disappointed with the Bishop's Lodge. $100 would have been all right for this hotel but when we arrived we were charged a mandatory "resort fee" of $30 ($15 / person / day). That comes to a 38% additional cost in our bid. I would expect to pay about $20 extra in fees but was disappointed in the additional $30 /day. What's the use of Priceline if a hotel can add an arbitrary fee to make up for the loss in the bid price? The grounds were very nice and the hotel was a 5 minute drive to downtown (don't count on their shuttle though - it only runs 3 times a day). We were disappointed with our "queen" bed. It was actually two twin beds pushed together to form one. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List. While i'll be the first to state that "resort fees" are a way to increase revenue while maintaining low advertiseed rates, to claim that it's a way to make up for the loss of a low priceline bid isn't the case, since this resort fee is charge to all guests, including those who book diretly thru the hotel's website and other non-opaque avenues (at much higher rates) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
