me88me Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 Hi there,We have 8 people goin on this trip and we already have a hotel in mind but it's 268 dollars a night at Monte Carlo. I've been reading thru all the topics and it seems that we can get it a bit cheaper. it would be great if we can get a similar hotel and in the general area for that price. Any tips on Priceline bidding? Also, how would priceline go about doing airfare from SFO to Las Vegas. People been telling me they give you the worse time possible. (ie. fly out at 6am and fly back at 7am) is this true?
me88me Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Posted September 11, 2007 i just found out that we do not need any good hotel.. anything would work but we prefer to stay on the strip. We can from 2* to 3* as long as it is cheaper... 4 guys and 4 girls.. girl room and guy room.. any help with this?
thereuare Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you 'declaring' quad occupancy or only double occupancy for each room? What are the actual dates of your stay? What is your maximum budget per nite per room? Do you only want the 'main' part of the strip or is the area around Circus Circus adn Stratosphere acceptable as well? Please note if you ultimately go with the Monte Carlo we are an affiliate so please use our links to begin any hotel-direct purchases you make. me88me Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Posted September 11, 2007 We are not declaring quad occupacy. We are declaring double. The dates are Oct 12 to 14th. We want to look into 130 to 180 a night. We pretty much want somewhere near all the nice clubs. We don't plan to sleep that much and we also don't want to spend that much on Taxi's. Is priceline the way to go or Hotwire?
thereuare Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 I'm doubtful $180 will be enough for a 4* hotel for these dates, but to give it a try anyway, first look at the Westin... is this a location you're willing to accept? me88me Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Posted September 11, 2007 Is there any 3* hotels on the strip. What would you consider Imperial Palace? Where is the Westin located at on the strip? Thank you for being so responsive!O yea, one more quick question, what do you think about using priceline for airline tickets?
thereuare Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Is there any 3* hotels on the strip. You can see the 3* hotels already reported to the board in the respective Priceline Hotel List and Hotwire Hotel List. Where is the Westin located at on the strip?See our Las Vegas Map in the Priceline Maps thread.O yea, one more quick question, what do you think about using priceline for airline tickets?Airfare is tough with priceline as you give up a lot of flexibility and with fewer seats on most runs the savings have been more difficult to come by... although it could be worth at shot at times if you're flexible. When bidding on airfare you agree to accept the potential for at least one connection and your flight can depart anytime between 6am-10pm. There is a chance you could begin your vacation on a 10pm flight and end your vacation on a 6am return trip home, essentially cutting a trip two days short. If traveling for a 2 week period this may not be so bad, but for a weekend away or a short trip it's often not worth the risk. me88me Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Posted September 11, 2007 ok, so here's the update. Someone found a good suite hotel thing with a kitchen called the Jockey Club for about 150 a night. It comes with one bedroom with a king size bed, i queen sofa bed, and they also do rollaway beds that can fit two people. Potential of squeezing in about 6 people. Not bad for hotel somewhat on the strip. I was told this hotel is right next to Bellagio. I don't think we can get a better deal on priceline than this. Right now, the only concern is getting cheaper airfare. 200 dollars round trip is normal but i'm trying to find some deals that can make this 150 round trip and i don't mind having one connection if the time is right.any suggestions?
