traveller38 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Hello - We want to stay MTW only, 9/11-9-13, 4* or 3*. Have been using the UES and UWS re-bids, now up to $200 for 4* and $160 for 3*. My question is, what price do you think would be accepted in these two categories for these dates and location? Your best guess please to anyone with an educated guess. Thanks.
thereuare Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!I'd think you're looking at $275+ for a 4* and over $200+ for a three star.I'll also add that i think it's a mistake to restrict yourself to just the MTW zone, although adding other zones may not even help as rates are very high for the above dates, but if price is important, you should increase your chances by giving as many hotels as possible the opportunity to accept your bid. NYC is so compact that any midtown zone is usually fine for the typical visitor. If you need help with a bidding strategy for more than just the MTW zone let us know and we'll try to help further.Let us know whatever you ultimately do for this stay. traveller38 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Report Posted September 6, 2007 To answer your response, thereuare, for a couple of reasons, we only want MTW. Your 4* $275+ guess sounded too pessimistic, so I stuck with my bidding strategy (slight morph to max 4* at $205 and max 3* at $155).Happy to report a win for the benefit of the board members: 4* MTW 9/11-9/13, Hilton Times Square, $205. 9.0 guest review score. Called the hotel and they confirmed me in a King non-smoking.Thanks for the info garnered from this board, very helpful.
