Priceline Hotel: 3* or Better on LV Strip 09/22-09/29

I will be arriving in Vegas on 09/22 and checking out 09/29. I will be attending a conference @ Caesars Palace daily so I am looking for something in walking distance. Any recommendations for something in that area for $75-$85 a night?

I don't mind staying further away or even off strip if I can catch the bus every day to Caesars.

Would you be 'ok' with the Stratosphere? If not, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

The Stratosphere looks ok, my only concern is the distance from Caesars. Looks like a pretty long walk.

Splitting the Priceline bid seems like a good option since the rooms are much cheaper during the week. I will have to read up more on how to do that.

You wouldn't want to walk this... but there is a bus that travels the strip and you could take the bus each way for $2.25 (last i checked, may be a little more these days) as well as a private shuttle/trolly that runs between this area and the strip hotels for a similar amount.

Since your stay commences on a Saturday and goes to the following Saturday, the ideal split would be Sat nite, Sun-Thur, Fri nite... but this would involve 2 changes (3 hotels) and not sure if you're willing to do that.

Let us know your thoughts after reading the SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID thread and we'll take it from there.

PS- if your'e not familiar with Vegas, the area near the Strat is not really the part of the strip you want to stay... it may do for a nite if the price is right relative to the higher priced 'main strip' hotels, but it's cheap(er) for a reason (as they say)

HOTWIRE has a package deal at the stratosphere for $885 with air and all taxes. I think i will just book that (link from this site) and call it a day. I am sure I could save a little money by splitting the bids as you advised. This is a business trip and my focus should remain on business, I can see where moving hotels and the such will just create additional stress I won't need. Seems like a pretty good deal. I was considering the Orleans, but at least the Strat is on the strip and will be easy to get transportation back and forth.
