jasonpicken Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 checked the hotels priceline had ahead of time in sarnia/pt.edward, 5 of them, only one 2* and one 3*. started with pt. edward and bid $55 for the 3*. rejected. added the 2* and bid $65. rejected. added sarnia and bid $68. won the 2* drawbridge plaza inn, a hotel that was not listed through the normal pricline website. drawbridge inn website has rates at $55, so yeah, i got burned. i have made a killing with priceline in the past so i'm not bitter, just a little irked. word to the wise, fully research what hotels are in an area.
tenerifesharon Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 Hotels in the regular Priceline "Purchase" list are never a guarantee for what will be won at "Name your own Price". You're lucky it's the first time that you were burned. Did you check the hotels listed here on the boards before bidding? You may still be in time to get in on the Priceline guarantee if you actually paid more than the rack rate.

jasonpicken Posted September 5, 2007 Author Report Posted September 5, 2007 it's priceline's policy to refund if the complaint is made in 48 hrs. i emailed within the 48 hrs. they emailed me back with a number to call. this i didn't get done in the 48 hrs and was told i was out of luck. i guess i was too slow on the draw this time.
