pompomad Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Hey all - New here, Fantastic site. I am coming over with my parents to NYC for a week - 9/22~29 and would really appreciate a bidding strategy for priceline. Hopefull we can stay in SAFE area therefore my plan is zone UP/CPS, MTS, MTW, MTE, max bid $220 before tax, 4* . Not sure about UE, UW, any suggestion?BTW, is there way I can ask for 2 beds? (I heard that NYC Hotel room are small). I really dont want to sqeeze in the same bed with mom and dad :) It's already hard enough to be the tour guide. Thanks a million! Molly
thereuare Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few points to cover first...is there way I can ask for 2 beds?See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ. (I heard that NYC Hotel room are small). I really dont want to sqeeze in the same bed with mom and dadSome NYC hotel rooms are so small that they can't accomodate triple occupancy (and may be against fire code)... is this a risk you're willing to accept? If not, HOTWIRE may be a better option as they'll allow you to search for up to quad occupancy. This also a very busy time in NYC, and a full 7 day stay at the same hotel may be difficult (and if successful may cost you more than if you were willing to change hotels mid-stay), is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?Let us know your thoughts, questions, comments regarding the above and we'll take it from there. pompomad Posted September 4, 2007 Author Report Posted September 4, 2007 Thanks so much for such fast reply!!Things turn out that we will stay in NY from 22~24, go to Boston for 2 nites, then go back to NY (3 nites)Great thing that hotwire.com they offer 4 star, New York for less than 200 per nite. I booked it immediately (Thanks again for your information!)However, there's no DECENT hotel at all between 26~29 for 3 people in Manhattan at all. Boston hotel cost nearly 400USD per nite too. I checked hotwire hundred times (yeah...kinda obsessed) but none room (3* or up) has been release yet. I might really go for priceline and call and beg them to give me rollaway.....hope it would work. I really appreciate for your help, any suggestion welcome. Molly
