Looking for the best 4* rate possible. My boss, Mr. Cheap-O, has me sharing a room with him at the Boardwalk - I refuse. His answer get your own and pay for it. My trade show is at the MGM. Really don't want to spend more than $70 night so a strategy would be much appreciated.

As a back-up I can stay at the Orleans for $40 night. At leat it is clean and cab won't be too bad to the MGM. haven't had a chance to check other rates but will do DD later.

Leaving the office but will resume this later tonight. Thanks for your help.

I think this one is going to be more difficult than a typical mid-week stay as rates seem somewhat high... just how big is the convention you're attending? (even if yours isn't big, there may be others in town accounting for the high rates i'm seeing)

At the 4* strip level you have 4 re-bids (remember, you can NOT use a zone that has resort properties as a re-bid... even if it has no 4* hotels!).

Select 4* Strip and...

Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $70.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

San Remo is showing:

4/13: $35

4/14: $47

4/15: $165

4/16: Not available online

(didn't know if you needed to stay until 4/17 or were leaving on 4/16)

Something is definately going on in town. Excalibur is about the same pricing. Expedia is showing almost everything sold out on the 16th.

I didn't know if your problem was with Boardwalk (understandable) or sharing a room with him. Boardwalk is showing sold out Thursday and Friday on Expedia, and $54 for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Your best bet price-wise may be to get a decent off-strip hotel (Lady Luck is showing as low as $33 on Expedia) and get a rental car, or drop quality standards and go with the Motel 6 on Tropicana for $36 (on Orbitz).

4* Strip & West Rejected 4/13 - 4/16

$67

$72

$77

$82

I was able to re-bid with 72 hours as I used my corp. address, email, cr. card.

I wouldn't mind sharing a room at a decent hotel, Boardwalk has some awful reviews on Tripadvisor.

A little out of the way but booked the Orleans @ $50 per night, using their best price guarantee + 10% as I found a cheaper rate on Orbitz. Hotel has good reviews and about 2 miles from the MGM where I need to be. better than the Boardwalk 4 sure.

The Orleans had good size (450 SF) clean rooms, restaurants were OK and reasonable, didn't see the pool, sinlge deck BJ. casino caters to locals so imagine the slots are looser than big strip hotels. definitely a good back-up hotel, certainly could do a lot worse. Cab to the MGM was $8-$10. Staff was very accomodating with toiletries as my luggage was delayed 1 1/2 days. If I can't get the strip this is not a bad back-up option though I ended up spending $40 day on cabs. keep in mind there is nothing in walking distance. It is about 2 mile down Flamingo from the MGM. If you stay there be sure and visit the $$ I left!
