This will be my first time bidding for a hotel through Priceline. I'm going to be in Santa Rosa from October 6-8 and want a hotel room for maximum $50-65 per night. Number of stars is not that important, price is most important consideration as I'm going to be eating at French Laundry that weekend and need to save $$. :) Thanks for all tips.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

To clarify, you do understand that you can't guarantee a hotel in Santa Rosa itself, but rather anywhere in priceline's zone which includes Santa Rosa (which also includes Rohnert Park and Petaluma).... look at priceline's zone boundaries for this area to make sure anywhere in the area will work well for your needs.

Secondly, are you really fine with a 1* hotel? Are you looking for as cheap as possible, or are you willing to spend a bit more for a higher rated hotel if it's still within your maximum budget above?

I would like a nicer hotel that is within my budget, however I will be in the room only to sleep and will probably use none of the "ameneties" that may be offered. I don't want to pay $15 more for just a marginally better room.

The zone issue is a problem that may keep me from using Priceline at all. I will be depending on rides from someone who is staying at the Hilton Sonoma and I'd like to be as close as possible to them in order to minimize their inconvenience.

thanks
