kniget Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Hi All.When Hotwire sorts hotel by distance - this is distance from where?Perhaps this is the distance of the hotel from the geometrical center of the hotel's listed area?Tnx.
thereuare Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! No, it's the epicenter of the zone from the city or address you searched by. Essentially, it's a way to sort by zone.Is there a particular city and stay you're interested in? kniget Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 Thanks. So the sort order (by distance) of hotels within the same zone is meaningless, right?London! October.
thereuare Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Correct. To test, i did a search for a hotel in NYC and identified a given property. I then did a new HOTWIRE search, searching by the address of this identified hotel, then sorted the results by distance. As per your theory the hotel should have come up first (since the address searched was the actual location of this hotel)... but the hotel's address i searched by showned up further down the list.If you'd like help with your upcoming stay please post the date(s) of your stay and the areas within London you're considering... we'll then move this thread to the OTHER COUNTRIES section of the board.
