TravelChild Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Was looking for a central place to stay in DC at end of September. My bidding strategy on priceline was: Bid #1:locations: Dupont Circle and Convention CentreStar rating: 4*price: $80 - rejectedThen I had a bit of a better look at the 4* hotels in the WHite House downtown area and figured I couldn't go wrong with them. So I changed 2 things for my next bid: Bid #2:Locations: Dupont circle, COnvention Centre and White HouseStar rating: 4*Price : $90 (figured I might as well up the price a bit since I was prepared to pay that anyway for the HOliday Inn on the HIll on Hotwire, which was a 3*, but I digress)Bid #2 was accepted! It turned out to be the Sofitel Lafayette Square, which took me a bit by surprise because I didn't see it on the hotel list on this site. HOwever, I am really excited about my win because the hotel got excellent reviews on trip advisor! :) Happy bidding!
