stuttlt Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 I am looking for a 3 star in the Old Town area in San Diego for $70.Dates are from 8/29 to 9/2.Next closest areas would be Mission Valley and the Harbor area.
thereuare Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! To clarify before suggesting a strategy to follow... you want to bid up to your limit in the Old Town zone before trying the other two zones? (rather than looking for the least expensive 3* in any of the three zones)Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. stuttlt Posted August 20, 2007 Author Report Posted August 20, 2007 My limit for 3* was 109...I went to 101 from 70 (in increments) before losing power.I started to lower my star rating to 2 1/2, but had already added some other areas without 3*s that had 2 1/2*s where I didn't want to stay.I am willing to go 2 1/2* in same areas, but it will have to be below $100.How many times can I bid before it stops me?
thereuare Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 I'm confused as to what you're looking for as the bidding you have already done contradicts your requirements in your first post.Let's backtrack a bit...Which zone(s) are you willing to accept, the minimum star rating, and maximum bid? As it appears that you're first choice is Old Town, are you willing to pay more to stay in this zone vs. the others or are you looking for the least expensive hotel at the star rating you select in any of the acceptable zones? bbbb Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 I would try this bid again for a 4* hotel starting @ about $94 and I think you will be a winner. There is a 4* for $119 on Hotwire for 8/31-9/3 ,it looks like the Gaslamp hilton opened up some rooms today. If DT area will work for you?
