candleshoe Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Greetings, all -I've never used Priceline or Hotwire before...so I'm a little nervous.I've been to NYC many times, and am familiar with the city.I just put my dates into Priceline, requesting a 4* property in Midtown West, and entered a bid of $155.It was accepted, returning one listing (I don't know if you normally just get one, or multiples). The listing just says:4-star Deluxe Hotel, Midtown West AreaOffer price per night: $155Taxes and Fees: $173Total: $1,103That price certainly is terrific, and based on the listing of hotels in Midtown West that I see on this site, any of those would be fine with me. Again, as I've never used Priceline before, I'm nervous about proceeding. Thoughts?

thereuare Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!I think you may be looking at the "confirmation screen" where you confirm the details of the information you entered... have you aleady clicked a "Buy My Hotel Room" button OR do you see that button on the bottom of the page you're refering to above? If you haven't yet clicked the "buy my hotel room" button then your bid has not yet been submitted and is not yet 'accepted' i think you believe it has been. By the time you know that the price is enough to be accepted, you'll already know the name of the hotel.
