We paid $49 and only stayed for one night. It is rated a 3*, which is a bit high in my opinion.

The staff was all very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the manager to the cleaning staff. The kids went for a swim in the outdoor pool, which was a pretty basic pool, but clean. The room was ok, but you tell the hotel is pretty old. The carpets are stained, the decor is dated, and the beds were not very comforable.

There was a restaurant on site, but we did not try it. We were staying there for a Pirates game, and the baseball park was only ~10-15 minutes away.

It was a decent, basic, but old hotel. It was ok to stay in for one night, but not nearly as nice as other 3* hotels I have stayed in.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn/Greentree for three nights at a cost of 50 dollars per night (2 rooms) for three nights using Priceline. Total cost was $383.58 with taxes and fees. I must say I was concerned about this property based on all the negative reviews I read online but I really enjoyed my stay! The staff was friendly (especially Smitty the hotel bartender), the rooms were decent (but nothing fancy), and a free newspaper was waiting for us every morning. Towels were always fresh (and there were plenty of them every day), and the beds were comfortable. Shower pressure was perfect, and the TV's had most cable stations and pay-per-view movie options. The front desk was GREAT about calling cabs for us, and there was never more than a 15-20 minute wait. The last day of our stay they not only called for a cab, but then called our room to let us know it had arrived!! A big plus when we wanted to relax w/ a few drinks before heading out to watch the Penguins kick some Philly Flyer butt! :)

Is it the Ritz Carlton? NO. Would I return in the future? Yes! I'd even recommend it to friends and family based on the positive experience I had. It just goes to show that you can't believe everything you read on the internet. :) Then again maybe most people are just a whole lot fussier than I am.

I have stayed at this property before and I agree that 3* are a little generous, but the staff is always accommodating and helpful and the location is awesome. I know that they were having some cash flow problems that effected service for a while, but those issues seem to be resolved for the time being.

However, there was a fire at this hotel last night. I don't know if this will effect their service or their star rating, but if you have reservations there in the next couple of weeks, I would give them a call to find out if everything's okay.
