Hello NYC Posted August 17, 2007 Author Report Posted August 17, 2007 I prefer not to, but I would split the dates if I can get better price.Should I bid 8/23 separately? What should be my new starting bid for 8/23 & 8/24-8/26?Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 The only reason to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID would be to get a better price... and i do think you have a chance for the last two nites of your stay at amounts you have already bid.I'd try the following for 8/24-8/26...Select 4* MTE...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. Hello NYC Posted August 18, 2007 Author Report Posted August 18, 2007 Thanks for the tip. I tried again last night without splitting with no luck. Do you think I have a chance without splitting the night?
thereuare Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 I think your chances are better if you do split... obviously $175 isn't currently enough and this stay is only 5 days away; getting a little close to continue to wait it out (imo) unless you have a good and/or similarly priced back-up reservation. Hello NYC Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 Well still no luck without splitting. Tomorrow will be the last try on PL before I have to cancel the backup. Since the backup is $250/night, I will try up to $200/night tomorrow. Will let you know.
AaronJB Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Just to toss out another idea, you can get the Westin Times Square or the W Times Square in a "stay 2 nights get 1 free" non-refundable deal here: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1492259-10422...l?promoCode=Z3HThe average for the lowest-priced option @ the Westin would be $239 and change. The average for the cheapest cheapest option for the W Times Square would be $226.This deal is through the hotel website. Search for NYC for your dates, then you should get a list of hotels available. the Westin and the W should be the top. The other W's are available as well. The deal isn't refundable, but figured I'd just toss it out as another option if you're interested in any of the hotels in the offer. Given that you do go through the hotel website for this offer, I'm *guessing* you'd get Starwood Points if you are an SPG member.
Hello NYC Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 Thanks AaronJB. If nothing comes through on PL tonight. I will just cancel my cancellable and get the Westin deal instead. $25/night + tax for 3 days is enough for a decent meal in NYC.
AaronJB Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Glad I could help! :)Please use the link above if you do book the Westin deal, as booking through that link helps out the site. It would be much appreciated. :)
Hello NYC Posted August 22, 2007 Author Report Posted August 22, 2007 Went up to $180/night, and still no luck last night. Westin it is then. Thanks for all the help.
