Psulzer Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 I am new to the board so please bear with me. I am looking for advice on bidding for a hotel in the loop area of Chicago. My son lives very near the Swissotel and we would like to book a 4* or very good 3* hotel as close to him as possible. The dates are ck-in 10/17 and ck-out 10/23. Our top bid would be about $170 but rates seem to be very high during our dates. Can you give me any suggestions as to how I might attack the situation? Thanks
thereuare Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!Since rates appear expensive for these dates, and to increase the number of hotels able to accept your bid, is the NMA-River North zone also acceptable... or is this too far north for your needs? Also, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Psulzer Posted August 14, 2007 Author Report Posted August 14, 2007 We would prefer to stay in the loop area since that is where all of our activities are located, but we could split the bid if necessary.
thereuare Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 How about the Palmer House Hilton for $172/nite?Go to GTA Hotels and search for your complete set of dates, then rank by star rating. There is a 4* "Top Secret" hotel which begins "A Beaux Arts-style 4 Star Deluxe Hotel" and then continues... "Built in 1925 and remodeled in 2004, this 25-story, Beaux Arts-style hotel...". This description matches the Palmer House Hilton and would be what we believe this property is.Please use our GTA Hotels link.Does this work for your needs or do want to go a different route?
