I tried a few days ago with a bid of $16 and was rejected. I bid again at $20, my bid was rejected but a new screen saying that because of the type of car and the dates I selected, if I was willing to raise my bid, I could rebid immediately without changing any parameters (or waiting 72 hours). I rebid at $21/day and got it.
