VickyB Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 3* Cathedral Hill $59 - rejected2.5* Cathedral Hill $65 - rejected2.5* Cathedral Hill + Fishermans Wharf $69 - rejected2.5* Cathedral Hill + Fishermans Wharf + USW $76 - rejected2.5* Cathedral Hill + Fishermans Wharf + USW + USE $83 - acceptedSmall problem, priceline only asked me for the number of adults (and not the children). Hotel website spoke of a roll-away bed. I called to ask for one. Was told it would be an extra $15 for the roll-away bed. When I mentioned that the Chancellor Hotel website didn't mention the charge for a roll-away attendant offered it for free. I was a little upset that the $15 was not disclosed to me before I bid. Wrote the manager a brief email. He responded within the hour. Seemed eager to keep us happy. He said that there is a miscommunication with Priceline and their hotel. Evidently, my 5 year old should have counted as an adult in order to have the booking come thru without having to add the additional charge. He explained that the charge isn't really for the roll-away, it is for the 3rd person. We are still only being charged the $83 and manager has assigned us to a quiet room, with a roll-away already in made up for us.Manager seemed very accomodating. We're staying there tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
thereuare Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding!I think you got a very good hotel manager as priceline only guarantees double occupancy... regardless of whether they are children or adults (notice in the bidding process you are never asked for the number of occupants in the room). Some knowingly take the risk of using priceline for more than double occupancy and have no problems, others take the risk and in the worst case scenarios have needed to purchase an additional room... so $15 is a 'deal' since the hotel is under no obligation to accomoate more than double ocucpancy. In the future, if you want to ensure sleeping accomodations for everyone you'll need to use HOTWIRE which allows you to search for up to quad occupancy, but is also usually a little more expensive than priceline (but still usually cheaper than booking conventionally)Thanks for sharing your results with the board and that you found an accomodating manager.... all is well that ends well :)Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
