roothy Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 Bid 3 star in Hauppauge at $74; got Hyatt Wind Watch on golf course. Really wanted area a bit west (Huntington, Glen Cove, Westbury) but was getting nothing for 2 or 1 star at $67, 68. Decided to go further (maybe an extra 15 minutes drive) and a little higher price if I could get a nicer place not too far away. Reviews for most part say Hyatt is a bit isolated (fine for me - have car) but typical Hyatt, so I'm happy. Cheapest motel I could find on a Friday night in Jericho/Commack area was $90. Not a cheap area, particularly in the summer I guess!
thereuare Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 Thanks for the latest report on this property.Do you recall the amount of your previously rejected bid at the 3* level which included the Hauppauge zone... or was this your first bid at the 3* level in the Hauppauge zone? Thanks. roothy Posted August 12, 2007 Author Report Posted August 12, 2007 I just decided to start out with $74, so I don't know if I could have gotten it at a lower price or not! I was just kind of tired of fooling around and figured I wouldn't mind paying that much. I bid $74 for a three star, thinking I would expand to two stars if that didn't work, or bid a little less for a two star hotel in same area.
