Priceline Hotel: Hotel for midtown November 15 -18

Hi everyone. I love this site and have had so much success with it.

I am having trouble working through some NYC dates for a national convention in November. I'm looking for a 3 or 4* hotel in or around midtown for November 15-18th, 2007. Is there anything I should know before I start the process... What should I expect to pay on average if I bid? Are there any tips or secrets out there for finding a deal in NYC?

I could stay in Jersey City at the Hyatt, which some people are saying good things about here. That's about all I've managed to discover at this point.
