thereuare Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Although i don't know the specific rates for LAX, car rentals are notorious for high taxes... airport recovery fees, terminal development fee, city tax, tourism tax, etc, etc.It's easy to tax travellers since most don't live or vote in the area. It's therefore easy for politicians to tax travel services... it reduces taxes for the city residents (or doesn't raise their taxes as much) and no fear of those paying the taxes getting so upset to vote the politician out of office (since they don't vote there) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
