Hi all, I am planning to go to Boston for 3 or 4 days sometimes from Aug 25 to Sep 1. I am very flexible in terms of which date I am going. Can I get some information before starting to bid?

-Which area I should be staying if I want to go to tourist attraction? I will be driving from Montreal.

-I heard driving and parking is a nightmare, I assume taking metro is another alternative. Which area is not close to a metro station?

-Is weekend rate cheaper than weekday?

-The last question is not related to priceline, I find something called BOSTON GO PASS, anybody recommend it?

Thanks for helping.

Which area I should be staying if I want to go to tourist attraction?
Most users bid the Downtown zone and often the Copley area as well... on really tough dates a few add the Waterfront area as well (but i think this is somewhat less convenient). Whether these areas work well for your own needs or not you'll need to look at what you intend to do and how the zones are divided.
Which area is not close to a metro station?
I would think that the Downtown and Copley areas should be fine, but as the zone is larger than just a few streets, some hotels will likely be more convenient than others. Also, as "close" is relative, you should doublecheck a T map and compare the station locations to the zones and see if there are any areas within the zone which don't have good metro coverage. Likewise you could look at the hotels already reported in each zone and see how close/far they are from a metro stop. If you find hotels/locations that don't have good metro access, you could also consider HOTWIRE since there you can take an educated guess as to the hotel you receive, and make sure that it is near a metro stop before making your purchase.
Is weekend rate cheaper than weekday?
Often, but really date specific and can't make a blanket statement like that to cover all situations. (ie- there are times when the situation may be reversed, with weekends more expensive than weekdays)
I find something called BOSTON GO PASS, anybody recommend it
Not sure if this is what you're refering to, but we're affiliates of the Boston GO CARD (please use our link if you make this purchase) and i'd also recommend checking one of our other sites, ThingsToDo411.com, for which the city of Boston is included.

When you're ready to bid post back with the zone(s) you've decided, your maximum bid,, and minimum star rating and we'll try to help further.

I do not want to pay over $105 because I can get a 4* hotels from hotwire for $112 airport (looks like Hilton) or $119 (Omni Parker House) or $124 (Langham Hotel).

I prefer to stay in Downtown, Copley, Waterfront or Cambridge.

Any idea what is BOSTON SOUTH area compare to the pinned hotel list?

Another thing I have to keep in mind is parking fee as well.

What do you mean bidding systematically?

Thanks for the help.

I don't understand what you're asking.
What do you mean bidding systematically?
The way you're bidding you can risk an overbid.

This would be a better approach:

At the 4* level you have three re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Downtown and Copley...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Waterfront and Cambridge...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Downtown and Copley and Waterfront and Cambridge...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, ifrejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105.

This is a more systematic approach which will take you up to your maximum bid.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Tried Downtown, Colpley and Waterfront using your method, bid up to 85$, all rejected

Bid $75 on Cambridge, reject, but offered to raise $22 to have a hotel accepted

Bid$78 using free rebid, reject,

Bid $83, got accepted. It is HOTEL MIT :)

Thanks for the help. Now I understand how the free rebid truly works.
