Priceline Hotel: Flexible 5 star bidding help for oct.

I am fairly new at this. I have booked thru priceline twice before locally (Central Florida). I am interested in a 5 star hotel in New York city, but I am flexible with dates and location, as long as it is fairly close to timesquare area. I was thinking about sometime in either late September or October. I need help with bidding and any suggestions you may have for securing this type of hotel.

There is no 5* bidding offered in NYC... you'll need to lower your sights to a 4* hotel if you'd like to use priceline.
