I notice that member runNgun post a winning bid of $52 for 4* Miami (Coral Gables-Coconut Grove) Sonesta Hotel

$52 ... 9/14/07-9/16/07, but I bid $52.00 and up to $60.00 for 8/15/07 thru 8/20/07 and failed. Why?

Since you don't seem to understand that "rates are date specific" here is a little exercise...

Post the rates for your dates... then post the rates for the dates which RunNGun won for.

Yes, this is the only zone that I want to stay in Miami. My max bid was $65.00

For runNgun date of 9/14/07 - 9/16/07 the Sonesta.com lowest rate is $102.

For my date of 8/15/07 - 8/20/07 the Sonesta.com lowest rate is $139.

Actually the rate for your dates is $159/nite.

So this isn't really how it works but provides for a good example...

Your dates are $30 more expensve than RunNGun's... so based upon this information, if he was accepted at $52, you would need a bid of at least $82 ($52 for his nites + $30 'surcharge' for your nites). Again, this is not the way it works in reality (it's more complicated that this), but this example is just to bring home the pointt that "rates are date specific".

$60.00 failed the late last night but a change of location with a bid of $68.00 won today.
