supercmos Posted August 2, 2007 Author Report Posted August 2, 2007 Saw this thread for the Sonesta Hotel Coconut Grove so I tried the same bid ($52 and $60Failed)Supercmos
thereuare Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 supercmos,Rates are date specific... what are the dates of your stay. Which zone(s) are you willing to accept? What is your maximum bid? What is your minimum star rating? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
supercmos Posted August 3, 2007 Author Report Posted August 3, 2007 Hello All:4* Miami (Coral Gables-Coconut Grove) Sonesta Hotel, failed at $60 and $65 for 8/15/07 thru 8/20/07What went wrong?Supercmos
thereuare Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 What went wrong?Rates are date specific...Is this the only zone you want to bid? What is your maximum bid?If you let us know the above we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. supercmos Posted August 4, 2007 Author Report Posted August 4, 2007 I notice that member runNgun post a winning bid of $52 for 4* Miami (Coral Gables-Coconut Grove) Sonesta Hotel$52 ... 9/14/07-9/16/07, but I bid $52.00 and up to $60.00 for 8/15/07 thru 8/20/07 and failed. Why?Any feedback is appreciatedSupercmos
thereuare Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 $52 ... 9/14/07-9/16/07, but I bid $52.00 and up to $60.00 for 8/15/07 thru 8/20/07 and failed. Why?Since you don't seem to understand that "rates are date specific" here is a little exercise...Go sonesta.comPost the rates for your dates... then post the rates for the dates which RunNGun won for. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
supercmos Posted August 4, 2007 Author Report Posted August 4, 2007 Yes, this is the only zone that I want to stay in Miami. My max bid was $65.00For runNgun date of 9/14/07 - 9/16/07 the Sonesta.com lowest rate is $102.For my date of 8/15/07 - 8/20/07 the Sonesta.com lowest rate is $139.
thereuare Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 Actually the rate for your dates is $159/nite.So this isn't really how it works but provides for a good example...Your dates are $30 more expensve than RunNGun's... so based upon this information, if he was accepted at $52, you would need a bid of at least $82 ($52 for his nites + $30 'surcharge' for your nites). Again, this is not the way it works in reality (it's more complicated that this), but this example is just to bring home the pointt that "rates are date specific".
