mmrmike Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 for week of Aug 6-10Hotwire is showing a 3* in the Mag Mile/streeterville area with High Speed Internet and Fitness as only amenities - showing for $96 with a 3.0 of 5 rating-how likely is it that this iis the Holiday Inn Mart area? Also showing a 3.5* in Mag Mile area with Fitness. Pool, Food, Business Ctr and Internet for $131 and a 3.5 of 5 rating - any idea on this one? Any help appreciated - i'm just joined but use Hotwire 3-4 times per month so will go through my logs and post my results from past couple of months for the 5-6 cities i tend to travel to etc. Thanks! Mike
thereuare Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! The 3.5* is a match for both the Sheraton and the Wyndham, but signs indicate the Sheraton is the more likely outcome, so that would be our best guess for that property. The 3* has not yet been identified but best guess is the Inn of Chicago. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. UPDATE = The 3* ended up being the Inn of Chicago on 162 E Ohio St. Says its recently remodeled so we'll see......got it for $94 + fees for the first night and i might try the 3.5* for the other nights.Just booked the 3.5* for the other night and it was the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers on 301 E North Water St for $131+ fees
AaronJB Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 Interesting that the Inn of Chicago is now showing up on Hotwire. The IOC is formerly an old Best Western and the 3* is rather questionable. Based on the mostly negative reviews, not much remodeling has been done yet. The hotel is in a great location, though.I'd strongly recommend going for the Sheraton or Wyndham on the other nights, as they are a VERY short walk from the IOC. I'm not much of a fan of the Sheraton, either, but it's a nicer hotel.
AaronJB Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 The Sheraton is probably 3-4 blocks away from the IOC, an easy walk. Glad you were able to book another property for the second night.
